    Andhra Pradesh is making fast strides towards overall growth and sustainable development, Education provides the surest instrument for attaining these goals. Of the 7 Missions constituted by Government of Andhra Pradesh, Social Empowerment Mission plays a key role to user in the development paradigm and the underlying factor in this is Education.

    Andhra Pradesh has a total of 62,182 Schools covering 13 districts that include Primary Schools, Upper Primary Schools and High Schools. The total students enrollment from Primary to High School is 69,91,634. The total Teachers strength is 2,86,311. The School Education Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh is committed to educating and nurturing all students - from providing better access, promoting enrollment and retention to providing equity, quality and school infrastructure.

    To make school going an ennobling experience for students belonging to every nook and corner of the State and to ensure that each school has access to basic amenities, the Government has made Schools an integral part of Smart Village concept covering 5 Grids - Water Grid, Road Grid, Power Grid, Natural Gas Grid and Fiber Optic Grid.

For School Education the flagship campaign of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh is 'Badi Pilustondi'. Its main objective being to create awareness among people that education is the right of every child and each one of them should complete elementary cycle up to Class VIII. In this regard, primary education acts as the basic enabling factor for participation, freedom and overcoming of basic deprivation; and secondary education facilitates economic development and establishment of social justice.
